On the date of Nov. 18, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage held Site Protection Conference & Award Ceremony of National Archaeological Park, 2010 in Chengdu. The Daming Palace Heritage Park has become one of the twelve National Archaeological Parks.
Archaeological Park is a new way to protect the large sites advocated by many experts. It differs from the normal city park or theme park, featured by its "important archaeological sites and their surrounding environment as the main body, with scientific research, education, recreation and other functions.” It will contribute to a lot to site protection and has a national exemplary display of specific public space.
It is reported that, in addition to Daming Palace Heritage Park, the Yang Ling National Archaeological Park and Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum National Archaeological Park have also been listed in the first 12 National Archaeological Parks of the whole nation.
