In recent years, the spokesman of Lushan Mountain first proposed the goal to build” smoke-free mountain” in the country. Under the administration of the Jiangxi provincial government, Lushan began to carry out the smoke –free project, such as using electricity to work instead of coal. Through a series of actions, more than 10,000 cigarettes were gradually disappearing. More than 4,000 households and 95% of the hotels near the mountain had ended the winter heating coal-fired pollution.
Currently, the Lushan forest coverage rate has reached to the degree of 86% and quality air rate accounts for 98% or more. Good ecological tourism has also brought new opportunity for Lushan. Just in the period of the first 10 months of this year, the number of people who come to Lushan for tourist has increased to a large extent, as a result, the tourism revenue also increased by 25% compared with that of former years.
