Pandas in Captivity Up to 312 in China |
It is known from the State Forestry Administration that the number of captive breeding pandas has achieved remarkable results in recent years. According to the statistics, the total number of captive breeding pandas give birth to 38 small pandas, among which 31 were survived.
Sichuan Wolong panda breeding research center has helped 16 small pandas to get new birth and only seventeen survived; the number of that for Chengdu Panda Breeding Research Base is 8 births, survived twelve among them; Beijing Zoo breeding contributes to 4 and two were survived. So far, the national total number of captive giant pandas has reached 312.
