Urumqi, Xinjiang province is wealthy of the tourism resource—snow, which is unique and precious treasures for the city. It has been stocked in exploring the tourism entertainment project on ice for quite a long time however. It is reported that the first Xinjiang Snow Carnival will be held from the Dec, 18th, 2010. The organizers hope that it will bring more ice fans, and even cultivate professional ice players by this chance to improve the ice entertainment project of Xinjiang tourism.
The place of the Snow Carnival covers an area of 30 thousands square meters. And Xinjiang may say goodbye to the history of having no professional ice stadium outdoors because of its newly professional speed skating run and standard ice stadium. Besides, the ice and snow carnival includes some other activities, such as the graffiti on the ice wall, photography contest of ice and snow, writing romantic love on the ice wall and the snow sculpture festival, etc.
