Zhouqu prefectural government office, in Gansu province announced that it would invest 100 million yuan to rebuild the tourism infrastructure damaged by the devastating debris flows recently. This can promote the regional tourism development and establish the brand of "Jiangnan in Tibetan, Spring City in Zhouqu", making travel industry to become a pillar industry of the county's economic development.
The devastating debris flows happened on August,7,2010 had issued in heavy losses for the local tourism industry. According to the statistics, the damaged zone covers an area of 240,000 square meters in Zhouqu, causing direct economic losses of 17.81 million yuan for tourism.
It is reported that the 100 million of investment includes items as followings: 25 million yuan in the pull-Ga Mountain infrastructure construction projects; 15 million yuan in Boyu Folk Customs Garden; 20 million yuan in Folk Customs Street construction projects; 500 million in tourism service facilities construction projects and 500 million in visitor center construction projects. Zhouqu will complete the geological calamity park as soon as possible, which can bring Zhouqu into the Jiuzhaigou Tourism Economic Zone.
