It is said that, 'the Guangxiao Temple comes earlier than Guangzhou'.
The Guangxiao Temple comes earlier than Guangzhou. Guangxiao Temple is the temple with longest history, deepest influence and biggest scale in South China. The temple was the dwelling house of Zhao Jiande who was the great-great-grandson of the Western Han Nanyue King — Zhao Tuo. In the Three Kingdoms Times, Yu Fan, the noble of Wu, was banished to Nanhai, and gave lecture here. Therefore, the Guangxiao Temple was called as "Yu Garden" at that time. For a lot of Kezi trees were planted in the temple, it was also called as the "Ke Forest". After Yufan passed away, his families donated the house as a temple. The name of Guangxiao came from it, and it has an history of more than 1700 years.
