Shanghai Xin Tian Di
Shanghai Xin Tian Di is a historical and cultural site in Shanghai city. It was reconstructed on the basis of the unique Shikumen area, while right now it is a fashionable pedestrian street for tourists, on which covers from entertainment places to restaurants. It combined both Chinese and Western style together, specifically the traditional Shanghai alley with the modern architecture style.
The designers kept the former brick wall, roof, Shikumen to rebuild this new “Mall”. Yes, Shanghai Xin Tian Di is a perfect outdoor mall for not only inhabitants but also the tourists to feel the ancient Shanghai city. Walking into it, you will feel the old Shanghai in 1920’s; and meanwhile, the inside will take you back to the present life. Inside, the national galleries, fashion shops, themed café, bars mean the attitudes of modern life, contrasting with the outside of Mall.
Huangpu River
Huangpu River is an important site in traditional tourism, not only representing a symbol and epitome of Shanghai, but also a classic place to get a bird view of the whole Shanghai city. We will start from Waitan(the Bund) then go South till Nanpu Bridge and turn around to North, passing by Yangpu Bridge and Wusongkou, finally get to the Bund.
During the sightseeing, we will see the Yangpu Bridge, Nanpu Bridge and Shanghai Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower. The two bridges look like two giant dragons lying on the river and between them is the Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower, so you can get a picture of “two dragons are playing with a pearl”. On the West Bank of the river, various kinds of exotic architectures differ from style to colors; while on the East Bank, there’re modern skyscrapers, which forms a splendorous contrast with the other bank.
Town God's Temple of Shanghai
In Shanghai, this is one of the most gorgeous snack streets, where you can find Nanxiang Small Steamed Bun, the Steamed Dumplings, and the cakes.
Locating in the luxuriant area, the God's Temple of Shanghai is an important Taoist temple in Shanghai. It was built 600 years ago, from 1403 to 1424.
From the Qing dynasty, Shanghai Town God’s Temple was added another function. Its west garden was used as business area. From then on, there were gradually more and more shops, competing with each other and becoming a market. Moreover, the west and east garden are the most marvelous and attractive ones among gardens. As a coastal city, the Town God’s Temple even was given the function and mission of protecting the sea.
